Disability Snowsport UK & COVID protection

DSUK is delighted to welcome skiers and snowboarders back to indoor and outdoor slopes across the UK. We are committed to a safe comfortable environment for delivery of our lessons for skiers and snowboarders, their families, and their carers.

Our commitment:

- Enhanced cleaning is taking place before and after the use of all equipment.

- All instructors will continue to wear face coverings in indoor settings.

- If lessons are being delivered outdoors and you would like you instructor to wear a face covering then please feel free to ask them to wear one.

- If you have communication needs and would prefer your instructor does not wear a face covering, then please discuss this at the time of booking. In Scotland, all of our instructors will wear face coverings indoors and face shields are available for instructors where this will help you communicate.

- We are continuously reviewing our risk assessments at each site to keep you safe.

What we ask of you:

Please wear a face covering indoors if you can, a buff or neck tube can be a comfortable solution. Instructors and participants are often in close proximity, particularly for sit skiing.

If you would like to ask about a venue’s COVID measures, please contact them directly prior to booking as Disability Snowsport UK must follow the guidelines set by our host venues.

Please note: that if you visit a Scottish Snowsport Centre from outside Scotland, rules about wearing face coverings still apply in Scotland.

Even if you are visiting an outdoor slope you may need to go inside if you are collecting equipment, meeting your instructor, and using changing facilities or toilets. Face covering rules will apply.

You may be asked to declare that you are medically exempt if you are not wearing a face covering. The Scottish Government’s Face Covering Exemption card scheme is helpful for this: https://exempt.scot/

On indoor snow in Scotland we will be using helmets with face shields during lessons where possible for skiers who are mask exempt. These will not touch your body and are fixed to the helmet.
