Trusts & Fundraising Manager

Role: Trusts & Fundraising Manager
Location: Flexible, remote or based in our Aviemore office.
Hours: 3 days per week with flexibility in working hours
Salary: £32,000 pro rata
Term:  Permanent
Closing Date: 8th June 2022

In 1974, David Morris, DSUK founder, asked “Why shouldn’t a wheelchair be on top of a mountain?”. At Disability Snowsport UK, we’ve been making this happen for more than 40 years. But, there are many more people with a wide range of disabilities who want to be part of snowsport too.

Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK) is the leading adaptive snowsport charity which provides expert adaptive lessons throughout the UK, as well as delivering opportunities to ski and snowboard in a mountain environment worldwide.

From complete beginners to lifelong participants, snowsport enables disabled skiers and snowboarders to experience freedom, build confidence, health and wellbeing, and social support in everyday life. We work to ensure that everybody can take part in snowsport, regardless of disability, injury or experience.

With a head office in Aviemore, in the Highlands, we have a team of around 40 staff and hundreds of volunteers across the UK. The fundraising programme raises around £400,000 annually through a mix of corporate partnerships, trusts, individual giving, a small lottery, events, sponsorship and legacies.

Scope of work
The trusts & fundraising manager will be part of the senior management team at DSUK and will lead on fundraising strategy, trusts and grants, major donors, case for support, budget, and will support project development. The post holder will also monitor and support individual giving. The post holder will provide leadership to and line manage three colleagues.

DSUK has a track record in corporate, events and major donor fundraising but there is significant opportunity to grow and diversify income streams. There is a relatively new rolling trusts and grants programme which would benefit from increased focus particularly in securing multi-year gifts. The trusts & fundraising manager will also work on day-to-day communications with our membership & events officer and senior fundraising officer, so that we tell our story well at every turn. This role provides room for future growth including legacy giving, sponsorship, digital and high value donors. There is potential to build a wider function over time.
