Disability Snowsport Policies

Disability Snowsport UK works to ensure that disabled people can ski and snowboard alongside non-disabled people.

This means that we have in place various policies to make sure that we do our work in the most enjoyable and safe environment possible for everyone.

You will find below some of our policies that you can read if you are interested in knowing more about them.

If you have any questions about them, contact us by email at admin@disabilitysnowsport.org.uk or by phone on 01479 861 272.

Equality

The core of our work is to make sure that disabled skiers and snowboarders have equal access to the slopes. We also believe that everybody else involved in our activities should be treated fairly.

Disability Snowsport UK is committed to the principles of equality of opportunity and is responsible for ensuring that no job applicants, employees, volunteers, staff, referees, coaches, office holders and participants are unlawfully discriminated against because of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation (i.e. “Protected Characteristics”).

In addition Disability Snowsport UK recognises that we live in a diverse society and will endeavour wherever practical to hold activities in a variety of venues so as not to disadvantage through socio economic backgrounds or disabilities.

Disability Snowsport UK will encourage partner organisations, Local Groups, suppliers, sponsors and beneficiaries, to adopt and demonstrate their commitment to the principles and practice of equality as set out in the Equality Policy.

You can read our Equality Policy for more information.

Health and Safety

We make sure that everybody taking part in our activities is safe, whether it is in indoor snow centres or in the mountains.

You can read our Health and Safety Policy for more information.

Safeguarding

A lot of children take part in our activities, and we make sure that they can enjoy skiing and snowboarding free from any physical or emotional harm.
