Mars donate £500 to Jason Cooper
Jason Cooper receives donation from Mars Fuel that he will put towards a new mono ski
Jason Cooper, from Gretton in Northamptonshire, is celebrating after receiving a £500 donation from the MARS Refuel Drink Fund
Forty-two year old Jason discovered his love of mono skiing after he was involved in a cycling accident three years ago, which left him with a spinal injury and unable to pursue sports as he had before.
Since Jason took up mono skiing in Milton Keynes, he has been asked to join the NSCD Alpine Race Development Programme in Colorado, USA. The programme aims to help disabled people of all ages and abilities to improve their skills and achieve their personal best.
Jason says: “Before my accident, I loved snowboarding and thought I’d never be able to set out on the slopes again. Mono skiing has allowed me to get back on the snow doing what I love. I will put this donation from the MARS Refuel Drink Fund towards a sit race ski for the program. This will be a great boost to me, as it means I am one step further towards achieving my goal.”
A recent survey conducted by chocolate milk drink, MARS Refuel, revealed that the main barriers preventing people from taking part in sport are a lack of motivation and cost. With the incredible summer of sport that lies ahead, there should be plenty to motivate people to get active.
The MARS Refuel Drink Fund was set up to help individuals and clubs play their chosen sport for longer. Applicants for support such as equipment, coaching, pitch time and travel expenses can be made online at www.marsrefuel.com.
The MARS Refuel Drink Fund, which runs until September 30 2012, has one Gold (£1000), four Silver (£500) and eight Bronze (£250) awards to donate each month.
The fund is open to residents of, and clubs and organisations based in the UK and Republic of Ireland only. Applicants must be 13 years or over and only one application will be accepted per person, club or organisation.
The milk goodness in Mars Refuel is a great source of protein, carbohydrate, calcium and vitamin B.
