Deloitte Ride Across Britain raises thousands for DSUK
22nd July 2010
Crawford Geddes chose Disability Snowsport UK as the beneficiary of his epic bike challenge.
The inaugral Deloitte Ride Across Britain took part on June 12th 2010. For 9 days the participants battled with 45 mph winds and rain as well as the most infamous road hills in the UK. One of the 550 riders Crawford Geddes decided to take part in the event and raise money for Disability Snowsport UK.
'I was fortunate enough to meet one of their ambassadors, Susan Harris, two years ago not long after I took up skiing. Susan lost her left leg and her right leg was severely damaged in the July 7th bombings in 2005 yet still managed to go her first ski holiday the following year thanks to DSUK. A truly inspirational lady whose story has kept me going throughout the worst winter in 29 years whilst trying to train for the Ride Across Britain.'
Crawford raised an fantastic £3405 through the support of his family, friends and colleagues. From everyone here at DSUK, we would like to say thank you for taking on such an epic challenge on behalf of DSUK.
