Disability Snowsport UK the UK’s leading snowsport charity. We have been teaching disabled people to ski and snowboard for over forty years and we are excited to be recruiting a new Development Officer to lead on the development and delivery of our fundraising and outreach activities across the south of England.
DSUK make the health and social benefits of snowsport, along with the unique thrill and exhilaration that accompany them available to anybody living with any form of disability, regardless of complexity.  Our passionate team of staff and volunteers deliver adaptive ski lessons in centres across the UK, facilitate trips to Europe and the USA, and provide a platform for disabled skiers to meet and participate in snowsports through supporting our local groups.

JOB TITLE:           Adaptive Snowsports School Manager
LOCATION:          Tamworth Snowdome
REPORTS TO:      Snowsports Manager
HOURS:                37.5 hours per week 5 days out of 7
SALARY:               £18,205.00                
QUALIFICATIONS:   BASI Adaptive L1 or above, desirable an Alpine/snowboard qualification.

Job Summary:
The post holder will be responsible for the continued development of the adaptive Snowsport programme that provides access to Snow Sports for people with a disability.
Main Duties:

  1. To work closely with local schools, youth groups, disabled organisations and individuals with a disability to provide opportunities to participate in the programme
  2. To liaise closely with the Snowdome to provide access for disabled participants
  3. To deliver adaptive Ski and Snowboard lessons
  4. To help co-ordinate instructors to run adaptive lessons
  5. To ensure that all activities are carried out within the organisations Health and Safety and Child Protection Guidelines
  6. To promote the programme and recruit participating groups throughout the area
  7. To maintain records of participant numbers, significant outcomes and compile monthly reports on the project
  8. To liaise closely with the Snowsports Manager to ensure that there is a natural progression for participating groups to attend residential weeks overseas
  9. To accompany groups abroad who have participated in the programme and who want to make the progression into the mountains
  10. To identify young individuals for potential involvement in the Race structure
Other duties
  1. To work alongside other members of staff to help carry out our long-term vision
  2. To work on training courses as appropriate to your qualifications
  3. Attend meetings, exhibitions, conferences on behalf of Disability Snowsport as appropriate
  4. Any other duties that are deemed appropriate by the Chief Executive, Business Development Manager, or Snowsport Manager to the successful delivery of the project
